Today just so happens to be National Coffee Day. I personally feel th
"After a few days of "decompressing" and getting our arms around what had just happened to us, we realized we had to call out those of you included in this email. There really isn't an adequate way of expressing our appreciation to you. We thought about adopting all of you, but then that's a little inappropriate. We thought about including all of you in our will, but your share of $1.98 just doesn't go as far as it used to go.
What really needs to be spotlighted is how a group of individuals (some of you whom never met) entered our life and saved us. There's no drama here- what you all did was truly save us and you and your organizations need to be called out for it. Almost all of you kept telling us "we're just doing our job" when we tried to offer our appreciation. You were only half right. What you did was "doing your job", but it was so much more. You showed us your true character and the true culture of your company.
A news anchor, referring to the recent United Airlines fiasco involving the brutal beating and then the dragging off of a paying traveler from their aircraft said "It's so often not about what happens, but what you do about it after it happens".
Anyone or any company can boast about how great they are when things are going great. But the true character of an individual and the true culture of a company comes out and shines brightly and clearly when problems arise and appropriate corrective action is taken. How a company or individual responds to a crisis or problem ultimately shows the true unfiltered character of an individual and true culture of an organization.
As you all know too well by now, we were involved in the sale of our home and the purchase and financing of our new home when the transaction took a horrifying turn and began to unravel, putting us under tremendous pressure and emotional duress as well as in economic danger.
Call it divine intervention, incredible luck or fortunate fate- but all of a sudden we became surrounded by the most incredible group of professionals we've ever witnessed
The response we received by all to make things right was overwhelming. Just when we were giving up on receiving any sense of customer service or even common decency, we were blessed with all of you who found solutions to the mistakes and egregious actions causing our horrific situation, even though none of you were the cause of the fiasco.
You are people of the highest Integrity. You immediately showed us genuine compassion, caring and empathy. We received a level of thoughtfulness and kindness for which we weren't prepared. Collectively, there was a singular and intense focus and unselfish concentration to provide an expedient solution. Your energy was off the charts. We heard from people, some of whom we just met, working on our behalf early in the morning and late at night- all unselfishly trying to do the right thing, never once complaining about the pressure to perform that you all were clearly under. You committed your full energy and concentration to providing a solution for our situation, undoubtedly sacrificing your home life and putting more pressure on yourselves to perform on your existing work loads.
You're our heroes. You truly have changed the way we view life and all of you have made our life better. The fact is that we would not be in our new home without the extreme efforts you all unselfishly put forth on our behalf. This world is a better place with people like you in it. These words are so utterly insufficient to articulate the true depth of our gratitude, but we offer you our most sincere and heartfelt thank you! May you all have the best of luck and greatest success in the future. You've earned it and you deserve it.
